A New Record to the Constructor’s Day

Holcim plant in Kolomna produced 239,885 tonnes in July, which is the record volume of grey cement ever produced for the plant’s history.

In July, 2013 Holcim (Rus) СМ in Kolomna produced the record volume of grey cement per month – 239,885 tonnes. This result of the new production line brought pleasure to Swiss group on the eve of the Constructor’s day, widely celebrated in Russia. The record volume of produced cement is a historically significant event for the Company, this volume has been achieved for the first time for the 143-year-old plant history.

In July, 2013 Holcim plant in Kolomna bit its own record on the volume of produced grey cement, exceeding its June result, which was199,563 tonnes. In June, 2013 among Group region Eastern Europe Holcim (Rus) CM came to the first place on the volume of produced grey cement and took the third place by the results of the first half of 2013.

The project of the Shurovo plant modernization was approved by the Holcim EXCO in 2007. In 2011 the official opening ceremony of the new technological line of dry cement production took place. Nowadays, the plant is exemplary on such aspects as environment, economic use of natural resources, energy efficiency, innovational concept and technical support, OH&S. The construction process began in the Q2, 2008 and took 3 years, the total amount of investments in the project was 550 MIO Euro.

Holcim (Rus) CM OAO (before 07.08.2012 - Shurovsky Cement) was founded by Lithuanian-born German entrepreneur Emil Lipgart. Currently the plant produces two types of cement – construction cement and white cement.
