Holcim (Rus) performed as a strategic partner of "Green Project 2012", the Third International Festival of Innovative Technologies in architecture and construction.

On November 29-30 in Moscow, in "Info Space" "Green Project 2012", the Third International Festival of Innovative Technologies in construction and architecture took place. For the third year in sequence, Holcim (Rus) performs as a strategic partner of the event.

Contemporary processes concerning globalization, intense human impact upon the environment, and increase of natural resources consumption put on the agenda the environmental problems and creation of comfortable and healthy living environment. The new architecture concept is to meet these challenges integrating environmental design principles and aesthetic values with innovative technologies. Introduction of “green” construction standards into the world and national practices is the key to sustainable development of our civilization. Architects play the critical role in this process.

That is why the organizers of the festival "Green Project" choose their mission promoting and stimulating development of “green” resource-saving technologies in Russia, the use of which allows you to create comfortable and safe environment for people. This year the festival was held under the motto "Green ideas - into reality." The agenda included workshops of Russian and foreign architects, conferences, "round" tables, and debating clubs.

Anna Avramenko, Head of Corporate Public Affairs, Holcim (Rus) spoke at the opening ceremony of the festival "Green Project 2012". She laid emphasis upon the importance of implementation and development of the concept of "green architecture", due to which the principle "We provide foundation for society’s future” is realized. Anna Avramenko noted that participation of Holcim (Rus) in the festival is the Company's commitment to support innovative ideas of ecological construction in Russia. The Company sticks to the principle of sustainable development, which is based upon economic growth, social responsibility and protection of the environment.

Also at the festival the international architectural competition Holcim Awards was presented. The competition aims at searching and encouraging talented and unusual ideas of authors whose projects are focused upon the solution of technological, environmental, socioeconomic and cultural issues affecting the construction sector at the local, regional and international levels. The award with the prize fund of 2 MIO USD was established by Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction.

The Company exhibition stand at the festival was presented with a collection of photographs by internationally renowned Swiss portraitist photographer Marco Grob and photographers David Hiepler and Fritz Brunier. The photos were taken in honour of Holcim’s Centennial and made in the same style emphasizing the unity of the Holcim Group companies.
