Bronze from World Championship

On September 17-25, 2012 in China the World Wushu Championship among juniors took place. Ekaterina Medvedeva, student from Kolomna Institute (faculty of social service and tourism), known in Holcim by her success at Europe Championship, took that time the bronze medal.

At their first time in spring 2012 Ekaterina Medvedeva and her trainer Andrew Gain, appealed to Holcim (Russia) for help in organization of the trip to European Championship. Social investments and charity are essential parts of the Company’s corporate social responsibility: we provide support in improvement of professional qualification, sport, education and medical assistance at the territory of our presence. Ekaterina got silver in Europe and ensured herself further support from Holcim (Russia) in her next trip to World Championship in China.

5,000 sportsmen from 48 countries participated in the World Championship among juniors. Ekaterina had been preparing the whole summer: passed exams beforehand, participated in trainings in Galich. At the championship she came out at category of weight up to 48 kg and age 15-18. After some difficult fights Ekaterina lost to an Egyptian sportsman at the final fight.
