120 m flue pipe of Shurovsky cement, former "Emil Lipgart and Co", was built in 1974 and named "Natasha" by the habitants of Shurovo village. The first production of the plant was made in 1870.

The pipe, that for a long time has been not only a symbol of the plant, but also contributed into environmental pollution is now becoming a part of the past - on August 10 th 2010 pipe dismantling works were started.

Demolition of the pipe is symbolizing the beginning of the new stage in the history of one of the oldest cement plants in Russia.New production line according to a new dry kiln process let to decrease emission of cement dust up to 10 times.

During a long time project and investment department members -Vasiliy Kozhevnikov, project manager, and Evgeniy Ukhov, team leader of project and investment services, were taking care of the project, anticipating a 4-month dismantling process. Step-by-step project, performed by a contracting company «Stroyreconstruction», implies (предполагать) further utilization of the materials left after dismantling of 919 cubic meter ferroconcrete pipe - they are going to be grinded and used for contracture of the road net on the plant territory.

Decision about the fundamental plant modernization, taken by the Company management in 2007, purports (предусматривать) substitution of the former outdated technology of manufacture with a new dry kiln process.

Before the reconstruction process of Shurovsky cement, the equipment installed in the 70s of the former century, was perceived as the most "up-to-date".Upon the completion of the reconstruction of Shurovsky cement, in Russia it will become a pattern in compliance to such key factors as maintenance of environmental sustainability, improvement of utilization effectiveness of all types of energy, obtaining of an innovative concept and technical support, as well as industrial injury risk minimization.
