November 19, 2010

On November 17 - 18, 2010 the 1st international festival of innovation technology in architecture and construction “Green Project 2010” took place in Moscow. ALPHA CEMENT (Holcim Group) became a partner of the project.

“Green construction” standards implementation to the national and world practice is an inevitable way to safe civilization on the planet from globalization destructive process and from the consequences of rapidly increasing energy consumption. Capable integration of innovative investigations into modern architecture objects is one of the most pressing problems that architect community faces. That’s why one of the main goals of the festival was the forming of ecological mentality among the architects, designers and investors, and the promotion of innovative technology into the practice of Russian construction industry.

Our Company exhibited two “green” ideas – international Holcim Awards and Shurovsky Cement plant reconstruction project. A model of Shurovsky Cement plant with the new production line was demonstrated on the Company stand as an example of ecological friendliness. Cement production has always been regarded as one of the dirtiest and the project realization foresees significant decrease of the negative production impact on the surrounding. New “dry” technology, improvement of the labour culture, and decrease of emissions make cement production “green”.
The mockup model and photos of the Project attracted the festival participants’ attention in professional and esthetic point of view: the guests took notes of Alexey Ivanov’s, the chief engineer of the expansion project, speech and took photos of the plant model. The dry process is a step forward for cement industry in Russia. Now with the new modernized production line Shurovsky Cement has become one of the most up-to-date plants in Russia.

“Green Project-2010” festival has become a place for knowledge and experience exchange – during few days in several conference halls workshops of leading architects, technologists, designers and experts were demonstrated.
